I thought I’d hop on and share a photo journal of the past couple of weeks. Settle in for a bunch of photos + probably as many words.

Jackson and I met Meg + Linen for lunch at Kuka Juice last week. The kids are adorable and I always savor time with framily, but can we talk about my smoothie? I just doubled checked the website to make sure I tell you correctly – I ordered the Berry Nutty Smoothie. Y’all. Even if you’re not a smoothie person, this one is for you. I don’t know the ingredients, but it’s a bunch of good-for-you stuff with peanut butter dripping down the inside lining of the cup. This may have to be a once a week treat for Andrea. (Meg?)

I spent some time with my girls last week. Teagan + Ava belong to my cousin, Jamie, and his wife, Natalie. Most of you probably already know this, but for those who are new…
The night looked a lot like black bean quesadillas + card games! I didn’t take Preston with me (he had baseball) so I enjoyed getting all the attention. When Preston’s there, the girls ONLY have eyes for him. It was nice to have them crawling all over me for a change. Have I mentioned I love my family?!?

I’m not going to write a lot about this picture. It’s the Old Greenville Graveyard. I am writing a whole story, so that’s all you get for now.
P.S., you’ve probably driven by this spot four million times without knowing it. I didn’t know it existed until last year.

These boys are such big helpers when we shop at Sam’s. Or “Sam’s house,” as Jackson calls it.

I found a pizza that I can eat! The Beyond Meat, Plant-Based, Cauliflower crust pizza from Publix is SO yum. I’m pretty sure it isn’t supposed to be one serving, but I ate the entire thing. #sorrynotsorry
It’s almost as good as the pizza from Yolo Pizza Kitchen at GatherGVL – did we ever talk about that one? If not, it might warrant its own post. 😍

We’ve been doing a lot of riding around town for research purposes. Jackson takes his binoculars in search of a story.

Did you guys know that Albert Einstein’s son lived in Greenville for a short time? Thankfully Jackson had his extra set of eyes because we found a family grave!
Another story in the works., stay tuned…

Last Thursday I drove to Mooresville to hang with a friend. Ladies and gentlemen, real friends introduce you to the Midnight Diner in Charlotte! I had the veggie omelette with potatoes + toast. ANNND French toast. Under normal circumstances, I wouldn’t have ordered so much bread, but this diner is not normal circumstances.
I’m having trouble coming up with words to adequately describe the dish. You need to experience it for yourself.

We had a very belated family Christmas meal with my dad’s side of the family. Uncle Doug loves our boys so well! Dad’s back went out on this day, so mom and JP stayed home with him. (No worries, Jack is rested and feeling good).
The rest of us had (meatless) chili, Duke’s sandwiches, and lots of laughs.

We are in the middle of painting the walls and updating the furniture in our home. This is the color JP has chosen for his room 😬🤦🏻♀️😳. He’s going for a galaxy/see-how-many-foxes-we-can-display theme. I love this kid with every fiber of my being, but let’s just say I’m thankful for doors that close. 😆
It’s been really cold lately. I hate the cold. We’ve spent less time outside which affects my mood. I’ve been so unmotivated to do anything. This week, however, is sunny and in the upper sixties. Welcome to South Carolina. 🤪
It’s time to get back to my daily walks at Furman. Definitely can’t walk outdoors when it’s thirty degrees. Another thing that’s negatively affected my mood.
In this week’s newsletter I wrote a little about what I’ve learned since we began homeschooling. You can read that here. (Subscribe so it’ll drop right into your email inbox! All you have to do is enter your address!)
Happy Wednesday!
