JP turned sixteen Monday. Kenny Chesney told me not to blink. I should have listened. It literally feels like yesterday that we brought him home from Guatemala. We’ve been celebrating his special day with this crew for (at least) the last decade.
He wanted to spend the day in Chimney Rock, one of his favorite towns.
We love the Gem Mine and River Watch Waterfront Grill. Let’s not talk about how Andrew’s iPad synched up with the televisions on the wall inside the restaurant. 🙄🤦🏻♀️
A storm rolled in while we were eating. It wasn’t a huge deal except the mine closes when there’s lightning. Makes sense, but we were bummed!
Thankfully, it opened after about an hour. The crowd was insane. As always, the staff went over and above for JP’s birthday – even tho we didn’t “plan” a party ahead of time.
JP is the happiest sitting by a river in a mountain town. Everyone had a great time! I’m so thankful for our friends who make him feel so special.
I love you MUCH, JP! You’re my favorite part of every day. You’re kind, compassionate, loving (in your own quirky way), smart, HILARIOUS, stubborn, and handsome (he hates it when I call him handsome 😆).
I’m proud of your heart. Let’s make year sixteen the best one yet! 🎉
