Preston at Camp Joy

Preston and I are at Camp Joy in North Carolina this week. He wasn’t originally supposed to be here. They were short on male counselors, so they called to see if he could help out. Anyone who knows Preston, knows that he literally dropped EVERYTHING and ran to this place.

He’s been volunteering and hanging with me on this mountain for years. He’s been a counselor for a couple of years now. I’m not sure what’s made this week so different, but it is. At least for me. Honestly, I’ve had a hard time not crying the whole time. Surprised? Anyone? Anyone?

When I found out his camper was Jason, I was a tiny bit concerned with how he would do. Jason is PRECIOUS, but uses a walker and wheelchair. He needs extra support with grooming and, well, everything. Let me tell you, Preston has “wow’d” me with the way he’s cared for him.

I wrote down more in-depth feelings (and lots of pictures) in my newsletter.

It’s free this week, so go read it!
